There is no language model inside Scovell. The check is deterministic and reproducible: the same name against the same list versions gives the same result. An assistant sees candidates and scores. It never makes the match decision.

Free sanctions and PEP screening: what to expect

Can I check a name against sanctions lists for free?

Yes. Scovell offers a limited number of free one-off sanctions and PEP checks without an account. Enter a person or company name in the form above, review any candidate matches and download the screening record. Adverse media, bulk upload and saved history require an account and are free during the beta.

Which sanctions lists does Scovell check?

The screening inventory includes US OFAC SDN, UK sanctions sources, the EU Consolidated list, the UN Consolidated list and an international consolidated set. Your result records which sources ran and their update dates. Coverage is not universal: check whether additional local or sector-specific sources apply to your business.

Does the free check include PEP screening?

Yes. Politically exposed person (PEP) screening is included in the one-off check. A PEP result and a sanctions result are different findings. Both are candidate name matches to investigate using the available identifiers and source information.

What should I do with a possible name match?

Compare the available identifiers, such as date of birth, nationality and entity type, and verify the entry at its source. A similar name is not a confirmed identity match. Record your decision and reasoning; Scovell does not make the decision for you.

Can I download a record of the screening?

Yes. The PDF or Markdown record includes the reference, timestamp, screening parameters, lists checked and their dates, together with recorded review decisions. A no-match result only describes the check performed against those sources at that time.
