Connect Scovell to your assistant
Use Scovell to check people and businesses. You can check sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs), and adverse media.
A result is a possible match. Check the source before you make a decision. Scovell does not make compliance decisions.
Connect your account
You need a Scovell account with connector access. Your account must have enough screening allowance.
- Open Scovell.
- Create an account, or sign in to your account.
- Complete each account setup step shown on the screen.
- Open the connector settings in your assistant.
- Add the Scovell connector. If a custom connector field is available, enter the server URL below.
- Select OAuth sign-in if the assistant asks for an authentication method.
- Sign in with your Scovell account.
- Read the access request. Approve the connection if the access is correct.

The connector uses Model Context Protocol (MCP) with Streamable HTTP. OAuth supports Dynamic Client Registration and PKCE.
You do not need a separate API key for OAuth. The assistant sends an OAuth access token with each tool request.
Your assistant plan or administrator can limit custom connections. A working custom connection does not mean the directory has approved Scovell.
Start with a test
Ask: “Screen Acme Test Ltd as a company for sanctions. Do not include adverse media.”
Read the result and its source coverage. Keep the reference if you need to open the result again.
What the tools do
Some tools write records. A screening request also uses your account allowance.
| Tool | Function | Access |
|---|---|---|
screen_name | Check one person or business. Return possible matches, sources and a reference. | Read sources. Create a screening record. |
screen_batch | Check up to 100 names in one request. | Read sources. Create screening records. |
list_screenings | Find previous screenings available to the connected credential. | Read records. |
get_screening | Open a screening with its reference. | Read a record. |
record_disposition | Save a user review decision and reason for a specific match. | Write a review record. |
A review decision can be true_match, false_positive, or undecided. Use the exact match key from the result.
Check the identifiers before you record a decision. If the evidence is incomplete, use undecided and state what is missing.
The tools cannot transfer money, send payments, or create images, video or audio.
What happens to your data
Data the connector receives
The connector receives the tool name, tool inputs and authentication token. It does not request the full chat transcript.
Inputs can include names, dates of birth, nationality, residence, company identifiers, addresses, aliases and review reasons.
Send only the data needed for the check. Do not put passwords, payment details or unrelated chat content in tool inputs.
Data the service stores
Scovell stores screening inputs, results, source details and review decisions. It links these records to your account or credential.
Case and API screening records have a 30-day expiry. Closing a case also deletes its linked screening records.
Technical logs can contain request details. They have a separate retention policy from case records.
Scovell also keeps records from review decisions to improve matching. These records can remain after case deletion.
The process replaces subject names with salted hashes and removes selected identifiers from free text. It can retain a false-positive name separately.
Read the privacy notice for details. Do not assume that free text is anonymous.
External services
The MCP server calls Scovell APIs on Google Cloud. Scovell uses Firebase for account access and record storage.
Sanctions and PEP checks use configured datasets. These checks do not use an AI model.
If you request adverse media, Scovell can send search data to Brave Search and GDELT.
Google Gemini can assess article relevance. Its inputs include the name, birth year, nationality, article titles and article snippets.
External services can process data outside the location of the Scovell database. Your assistant provider also processes your chat under its own terms.
Stop access
Disconnect Scovell in your assistant settings to stop use from that assistant. Disconnection does not delete existing screening records.
Contact support if you need account deletion or help with access removal.
Limits and results
Scovell is a beta service. Read the terms of use before use.
Account limits control screening volume and adverse-media use. The batch tool accepts no more than 100 names.
List coverage and update times can change. An unavailable source is not a completed check with no matches.
A name match does not prove identity. Scovell does not decide whether to accept a customer or provide a service.

Open Scovell and complete the setup steps shown. Contact support if connector approval is still required.
- Your allowance is exhausted
Check your account allowance in Scovell. Contact support if you need help.
